Barnardo’s, the UK’s leading children’s charity, is excited to announce Internship Student Schemes for 2024. We are seeking compassionate and dedicated students to join our mission of supporting and advocating for vulnerable children and families. As an intern at Barnardo’s, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, gain hands-on experience, and make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of programs supporting children and families.
- Collaborate with teams to plan and execute community outreach initiatives.
- Conduct research on relevant social issues and trends affecting children.
- Support the design and delivery of educational and recreational activities.
- Engage in advocacy efforts to raise awareness about child welfare.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in social work, psychology, education, or a related field.
- Passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and families.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy and sensitivity towards diverse communities and backgrounds.
Experience:
- Previous volunteer work or experience in a community-focused setting is advantageous.
- Familiarity with child welfare issues and social justice.
Skills:
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Empathy and cultural competence.
